Beautiful from the Inside Out - Noelle Dong

Both Sessions

This workshop is for the sisters! "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

There are so many ways to be defined, and we often let others (parents, friends, classmates, media, guys, etc.) define who we are. We even label one another. The girly-girl. The "IT" girl. The "guy's girl", the tomboy. The good girl, the bad girl, the nice girl, the smart Asian girl, pretty, cute, hot, plain jane, shy, the church girl, Little Miss Perfect.

With a yearning for acceptance and the need to achieve (good grades, good college, best/smartest/coolest, most "_____"), how are we navigating the world we live in as young women?

We know that we're more than a label, and we're more than how we look. This interactive workshop will examine how we're shaped by labels and where they come from, and how we can practically go 'counter culture' and grow to be who God made us by growing in Christ, as well as encouraging and interacting with others around us to grow likewise (vs. being a ‘Mean Girl’). By taking examples from women in the Bible and modern media and trading stories about what it's like becoming who we are today, we'll delve into being genuinely beautiful as God intended.

Living Like Christ Means Living With The World - Wes Coddington

Both Sessions

Center-set vs Boundary-set Jesus did not put barriers up for people, he loved them where they were. Our typical church-thinking puts up more barriers in people’s lives than a state prison. Come explore further how we can discover and tear down some of our own barriers.

Cat and Dog Theology We all suffer from Cat theology, that is, we view life and Scripture through a lens of selfishness. Don’t believe it? Here’s an example: think about all the “worship” songs you sing and count how many personal pronouns are about you, not God! The impact is spiritually deadly in our lives and the lives of those to which we hope to minister. Come find out how to think like a dog, giving God glory in every life circumstance.

Holiness and Hobbies So you want to live like Jesus and drop the walls, but how? Join us as we get real practical and talk through ways you can use what God has already given you to be Jesus in the lives of others.

Money Mun Mun Munneh - Redd Sevilla

Both Sessions

Of the 3 topics listed, which one is the subject of more bible verses than the rest?

  1. Faith
  2. Prayer
  3. Money

Is that your final answer?

You are correct! Money it is!

From the first book in the Bible to the last, there are about 500 verses on prayer. Verses on faith? Less than 500. The number of verses about money? More than 2350!

Whether you think about money a lot or you're too broke to give it any thought, the Bible has something to say about the issue. Discover what God has to say about using it, saving it, making it, borrowing it and giving it away. We’ll also discuss how your relationship with God is affected by how you handle the money you have.

Save the Date - Hoon Kim

Afternoon Session

When we allow the world to direct the romantic desires which God built within us, problems and pain are not far behind. This workshop is a frank discussion about spirituality, sexual attraction, making out, timing and how to identify that perfect somebody who is worth dating. As this workshop will seek to clarify the myths and facts about both dating, it will necessarily lead to the topic of marriage and how to glorify God and expand His kingdom through marriage and family.

Transformers: More than Meets the Eye - Peter Ong

Morning Session

We often see our lives as having two sides. One is at church where everyone thinks we are so "spiritual." We know the songs, we wear the t-shirts and we can pray so powerfully that our pastor ends our prayers with a strong AMEN. But when no one is looking, we feel like we are faking it and we often don't sense our faith. This workshop will look at what is the core of the gospel and our faith. We will explore our call to mercy and how that ties into our faith. We will also look at how the gospel works from the inside out.

Who Wants to be a Jesus Freak? - Marianne Lin

Both Sessions

American Idol What defines you? How do you find your identity in your home, at school, amongst your friends? What does being a Christian have anything to do with the choices you make, the way you interact with family and friends, the way you think about life? Is being a Christian something you do on Sundays but during the rest of the week you really do not feel much like one? Is Christianity your parents’ religion? Is believing in the Bible and the things taught in it relevant today? These are some of the questions we will grapple with during the first session.

Mirror, Mirror On the Wall Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Do you believe this? Do you consider yourself a sinner? God’s Word tells us that every single person on this planet, whether he or she acknowledges God, is sinful in God’s eyes. Even if you have not broken any human law, you have broken God’s law. And there is nothing more harmful in all of our relationships with other human beings and with God than a heart that is not repentant. Let us be honest and deal with our sins, our struggles, our shortcomings, so that our relationship with God and with others can be healthy and enjoyable.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire Your parents say they are Christians, but they certainly do not always act like one. They say one thing and do another. Or they expect you to do things they do not even do themselves. Plain and simple, what if your parents are hypocrites? How do you deal with that? The fifth commandment from Exodus says that we are to honor our mother and our father. How do we do that when they are illogical and unreasonable and they place impossible demands on us? In this last session, we will discuss our role as sons and daughters of our parents and what God expects of us.
