Yes, I can minister to people that don't look like me!
- Dan Ho
Ever wonder who was the first Chinese person ever that became a Christian? Ever wonder who shared the gospel with him/her? While you are at it, ever wonder what evangelistic method was used? We can go on and on about this, but one thing is for sure, it involved "cross cultural" ministry. The Lord expects and requires his people to be involved in this tremendously interesting part of the Christian life. Are you involved in it? Living in the most diverse section of the world, it should be normal for us all to be experts in this. Come and discover some of the exciting ways we can minister cross culturally to folks that don't look like us, don't talk like us, don't eat like us, and don't play like us but still need the Lord just like us.

Social Justice & Racial Reconciliation - Jeff White
Is seeking a just society an important part of the Christian calling? Is it central to living out the gospel or something that is secondary to the evangelistic task? How do social action and racial reconciliation relate to one another? At this seminar we will consider these and related question that are crucial to living faithfully as followers of Christ in a fallen world.

Serving God, Preventing Burnout - Christine Ryniker & Angela Ortiz
Does your ministry experience resemble a season of the Amazing Race? Do you spend as much time with your Daytimer as you do with God's word? If you were to describe how you are "feeling", would tired be one of the first words out of your mouth? Then we need to talk.
We all honestly desire to "run the race with perseverance," but we need to make some "burnout precautions" now if we want run, not crawl across the finish line. Jesus took time to rest and replenish in the midst of fulfilling His plan and He charges us to do the same. Come and let us explore God's plan for life and ministry!

Being a Missional Church To a Postmodern Generation - John Ng
Because we live and do church work in a postmodern reality, the church needs to understand the times and know what to do. A missional church is essentially a mission outpost to a generation of urban nomads who do not embrace a judaic-christian worldview. This workshop seeks to explore some of the issues and challenges of being missional.

Discovering and Doing God's Will for Your Life - Roger Kim
Decisions and choices that we make shape and change our lives that is why so many people are looking for ways to make the process of decision making a little easier, a better percentage, to gain an edge on life. People are willing to try anything from psychic advisors to flipping coins to help them in life when it comes to making decisions.
As Christians we have the greatest asset available in our lives when we face that fork in the road or a crossroad. We have our sovereign God who says that He wants to guide us.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." Ps 32:8
In this seminar we will talk about 3 reasons why we need God's guidance: (1) Complexity of Life, (2) Uncertainties of life, (3) Claims of what it means to be a Christian and how this leads to discovering and doing God's will for your life.

Counseling Anxiety & Walking with Wisdom - Erin Manahan
We study for SATs and APs (and pray for good grades). We do extracurricular activities (and pray it will make us look well-rounded). We apply to twelve colleges (and pray for a decent acceptance - at least one Ivy pleeease!). We pull all-nighters (and pray for energy to get through the exam/twenty page paper that was due yesterday). We serve in fellowship (and pray it will make us spiritual). We promote for Asian Pride(...because it's the right thing to do). We apply for internships (and pray it will turn into a full-time job). We move out on our own (and pray we can pay all the bills, and maybe even that new LV bag or Cartier watch...or just a night of clubbing once a week).
Seems routine...just the simple straightforward course of life that everyone takes... Yet undoubtedly, this path is riddled with confusion, doubt, envy, fear, pride, and most of all, ANXIETY. If you are breathing, you probably like to have some control over your life, even if you believe in a Sovereign God. For many of us, control is the driving force behind all our plans, for today, tomorrow and five years from now. But why does this force exist and how can we get IT under control? How ought we to trust God in our doing and planning? Is there a map for our lives that we can bank on?

Worship: Truth, Spirit, and Freedom - Ben Koo
Has worship become another boring part of church? Or has it even become another source to get a spiritual or emotional high. Why is it that we come to church and sing? Why do some churches have such different types of worship? Is one way better than another? What does it mean to worship God in spirit and in truth? Worship is supposed to be about God but can easily turn into something about us. This workshop seeks to expand your view of worship, so that we, as worshippers can more fully appreciate and experience all that God has intended for us through this incredible gift.
