  MORNING SPEAKER & WORKSHOP SPEAKER:
Roger Kim

Pastor Roger Kim came to Baltimore Maryland to attend the Johns Hopkins University with a full scholarship to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a surgeon. However, God had other plans for him. In the middle of his college years, he went through a crisis in his life that led him to realize that God is real and alive.

He quickly got involved in Campus Crusade for Christ after becoming a Christian. And he was heavily involved in campus ministry to help others like himself to come to know God. Upon graduating from college, Pastor Roger attended seminary and earned his MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. First seven years of his ministry was working in youth and college ministries at various churches. In 1994 he was ordained by IMF while serving at a church in Rockville, Maryland.

In 1997, Pastor Roger with eight other people, four of them college students, planted his first church, Grace Life Church, in Baltimore, Maryland. And last year, he planted his second church in downtown Baltimore. Pastor Roger's vision is to plant a network of churches nationwide and globally that will work together to reach the unchurched for Jesus Christ.

He is currently the lead pastor of both Grace Life Church - Stepping Stone and Grace Life Church - Baltimore. Pastor Roger also serves his denomination, Southern Baptist Convention, as a member of the state Church Planting Team and as the Regional Church Planting Strategist. He and his wife Ann, have four boys, Timothy, Stephen, John, and Joshua.

 
  EVENING SPEAKER & WORKSHOP SPEAKER:
John L. Ng

Prior to his college years, Pastor John became Christian through an adult friend who was the director of Bowery Mission. After college, he felt God's call to full time professional ministry and entered the Alliance Theological Seminary in 1974.

For the past 30 years, John served as pastor in California and New York churches and taught in several seminaries as an adjunct and full time professor. In 1985, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in Church Growth from Fuller Theological Seminary. In between, he also served in the National Office of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination as Associate Director of Church Growth and Planting and Assistant Vice President for Division of Church Ministry. Since his conversion, he has been a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and was ordained in 1982.

In 1997, with a group of 40, he planted an Asian-American church in New York City. He is currently the Assistant Professor of Pastoral Studies at the Alliance Theological Seminary in the New York City campus, an adjunct professor at Bethel Seminary of the East, and the Advisory Pastor with the New York Chinese Baptist Church.

He is also an associate director of PALM, a parachurch organization serving the Asian churches and pastors in the greater New York area. He and his wife, Laura Yan, have four adult children, Jessica (and her husband Dan), Johna-Beth, Jillian and Joshua.

 
  WORKSHOP SPEAKERS  
 

Jeff White is the organizing pastor of New Song Community Church, a multi-ethnic church based community development effort in Harlem which was begun in 1998. A graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary, Jeff was ordained at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia where he worked primarily with college students. He served as an associate pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan from 1990 - 1998, where his primary responsibility was the oversight of the community formation of the church through fellowship groups. Jeff and his wife, Rebecca, have been married for 21 years and have three children, Kirsten(16), Corina (14) and Andrew (11). Prior to entering the ministry Jeff worked as a physical therapist.

 
 

Christine Ryniker has a master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Alliance Theological Seminary and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Nyack College and a During her time in school, the Lord began to place within her a passion for spiritual formation and leadership development in the lives of young adults.

Chris has been in young adult ministry for many years. Soon after graduating college, she served as the Youth Director for Pascack Bible Church in Hillsdale, New Jersey. Chris' love of leadership and youth gave her the opportunity to create unique retreats, events, and teams to serve within the local community.

In 2000, she took the position of Director of Residence Life at the college and worked with student leaders to give them the tools and training needed to impact the world around them. Since her home was located on the campus, she also spent time interacting on an individual basis with the student community. It was here that Chris and Angela both forged their friendship and out of their shared commitment to Jesus Christ the foundation of future ministry was laid.

After serving several years at Nyack College, Chris moved forward to further pursue ministry opportunities before launching Journey Ministries in 2005.

 
 

Angela Ortiz is a graduate of Nyack College and holds a bachelor's degree in Missiology with an Urban Concentration. As a student, the Lord began to call Angela into a deeper relationship with Him. He also gave her a passion for intercessory prayer, leadership development and a desire to see others grow in Christ.

Upon graduating, Angela moved to Colorado where she was heavily involved with the youth leadership team for History Makers Youth Church at Springs Harvest Fellowship in Colorado Springs. Angela's dedication to youth began to show itself through times of individual mentoring and as she taught practical biblical principles to the group as a whole.

In the fall of 2003, Angela moved to Senegal, West Africa where she served as a boarding home assistant for missionary children, with the C&MA at Dakar Christian Academy. Living overseas allowed Angela to use her variety of ministry experience to impact the lives of young adults and give them a practical understanding of the power of a Christian community.

 
 

Pastor Dan Ho came to the United States with his family in 1965. He grew up in New York City and came to know the Lord at the age of 13 during the 1970's revival. He attended Nyack College and received a B.A. in Religion. The following year, he attended the Alliance Theological Seminary. Barb grew up in the NYC suburban town of Huntington, Long Island. She too attended Nyack College. They were married in 1979 and began their ministry the following year in Manhattan. In October 1982 they were called by the Lord to start the Queens Christian Alliance Church. They have two sons, Ryan, who is a 4th year student at Dallas Theological Seminary and Andrew, who is finishing college. Their passion is to reach the immigrant community of the New York City area, especially the second generation. They also have a passion for missions, particularly in Eastern Europe. Pastor Dan and Barb believe deeply that the "Great Commission" involves Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

 
 

Ben Koo was born and raised in the quiet suburbs of Northern Virginia. After college he spent seven years working as an engineer for the government. During his time with the government he moonlighted in various contexts as a youth pastor, church planter, worship leader, pastoral intern, served in the inner city, college ministry, and also finished up his Master of Divinity from Biblical Seminary. He then spent a year with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Kona , Hawaii. In the past 3 years he's been on 9 short-term missions trips and has been involved in worship ministry for the past 14 years. He is single and currently serves as the associate pastor of worship and missions at Grace Life Church, a multi-ethnic church located in Baltimore, MD.

 
 

Erin Manahan is a recent graduate of the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling at Nyack College where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling. During her education she interned at a hospital in New Jersey where she counseled people dealing with physical-related illnesses. Later, Erin interned at Nyack College in the Counseling Center. Erin dealt with issues such as self-mutilation, addictions, perfectionism, self-hatred and anger. She also was part of a panel discussion on Pornography Addiction. Erin sees counseling as her calling because she desires to create a loving atmosphere where people can be themselves and be reassured that God loves them even in their brokenness and confusion.

Erin attends Christ Church in Montclair, New Jersey, a multi-ethnic church where she has worked with the youth comprised of 500 teenagers. During her time with the teens she led bi-weekly small groups. Erin has also taught lessons on "Defending your Faith" and presented for the Rites of Passage program, which is a program geared for teenagers to be learn and be encouraged as they mature physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Currently, Erin is looking for work in the counseling field and placing her life in the Lord's hands. Erin would like to pursue her doctorate in order to continue counseling, teach and write.
