Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who
reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry
of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself
in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has
committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore
Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal
through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled
to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that
in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21

College & Career Main Message |
| |
Morning Speaker - Jack Crabtree |
| |
Reconciliation Talks
Reconciliation simply means "enemies becoming friends". In 2 Corinthians 5 God describes his relationship with us as an act of reconciliation and calls us to be actively involved in bringing reconciliation to our world. Our world is filled with hostilities---between nations, races, cultures, families and individuals. God instructs us to be agents of reconciliation on all these fronts. We are to communicate with words and actions the message that God wants us to be reconciled with us so that we can be reconciled with the people we confront every day. The morning talks at the conference by Jack Crabtree will focus on defining reconciliation and applying it to life situations.

Evening Speaker - Pastor Tom Dickerson |
| |
Being a new creature in Christ is more than just a transformation
of sinner to saint, it is a new life that calls us to discipleship.
The footprints of a disciple mark a path that is seldom followed and
often misunderstood, but for those who dare make the journey it
leads to peace, joy, and a life of immeasurable fulfillment.

Changes?! Yes, we've made some. We're making more.
|
| |
|
| |
We know that the Career folks have different needs from the
college and youth at our conference. And we know that time
(esp vacation time) is precious. In our effort to make this
conference more relevant/worthwhile for you to come, we've made
(and are making) the following changes:
- More workshops and optional seminars that focus on relevant
topics for career folks and families.
- Living accommodations separate from youth and college students.
Furthermore, there will be no conference-imposed curfew for career
attendees. In fact, common areas will be provided to help foster a
sense of community amongst those in the career group.
- Separate conference facilities for college & career attendees
(While we are still planning to hold the conference on the Hofstra
University campus this year, we intend to reserve space solely for
use by our college & career (C&C) attendees.
Please help us by filling out the survey you might have
received in the mail recently. Or email us at
feedback@nysummerconference.org.
We welcome your comments and suggestions.
